SUMMARY Reporting to the Controller, the Division Controller will run the day-to-day accounting operations and month end close for three companies. This position will be responsible for communication and problem solving with the plant and other departments, meeting deadlines, and a multitude of accounting activities, including financial reporting. The Division Controller will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounts Payable team will report directly to the Division Controller for D&D Ingredients company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Analyze the organization’s income and expenditures and ensure compliance with regulations and tax laws
Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare monthly financial statements and trial balances
Responsible for month end close and budget planning
Establish accounting controls and procedures
Gather and prepare documentation and support for auditors
Coordinate with the plant for physical inventory counts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Skills & Competencies:
Accounting Operations: Knowledge of accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, Fixed Assets, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition to ensure accuracy
Data Based Decisions: Demonstrates strong quantitative and analytical skills as they apply to reporting and information processing. Uses various methods to make data-based decisions.
Continuous Improvement: Design, roadmap and continuous process/control improvement plans, leading implementation of both, including application/system change management for increased efficiency and effectiveness of processes or data.
Ability to:

Experience and Training Guidelines:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Professional certification such as CPA, CMA or CFM a plus
Practical training or experience in an audit or CPA firm is beneficial, or previous experience in a Controller role
At least five years’ accounting experience
Minimum three years’ preparing financial statements
Advanced level proficiency in MS Excel, including experience in vlook ups and pivot tables
MS Great Plains experience a plus
SAP experience a plus
